We met when the MLC Wind Symphony came to WLA for a Wind Symphony Tour. As Bass Clarinet and Baritone Sax players, we sat next to each other and chatted while making jokes about the band. When school started up the next year, we would talk occasionally and were casual friends. Things changed when the band's trip to Texas came along. We got to spend a lot of time together (one of us definitely liked the other first). With some pushing and snooping done by friends, we finally started talking seriously. Just as summer began for us, so did our love story. The rest is history.
It was a Sunday morning when Grant decided today would be the perfect day to propose. After a double coffee date at church with friends. Before all of this, there had been many times when we would discuss potential times to get engaged, but every time one of us would guess it too quickly. Ruining the potential for any surprise. We had planned on a trip to Minneopa Falls during Exam Week, but those plans were suddenly moved up. After going to the falls, the bison drive, and then the hike down to the river, Grant still had not asked the question. Once we reached the end of the beaten path, we began to make our way back up the hill, but not before three final questions. "What are you thinking about?" "You, and can you turn around?" The last one you can guess.
We share many hobbies, but our usual favorite is going on dates to different coffee shops and finding a quiet corner to sit down together and read a book or just catch up from the busy weeks of school. You can find us on walks or sitting down and playing a game of cards.
We both love this passage and see how it connects to our future as called workers.
