We met through mutual friends in Lincoln—just two people crossing paths, not thinking much of it at the time. Nearly a year went by without seeing each other again. Then one night, by total chance, we ran into each other while out with friends—and everything just clicked. It felt like we had known each other forever, and yet we were still discovering something new with every conversation. As much as we hate to admit it… our parents were right: the right love really does find you when you’re not looking. On our one-year anniversary, we followed in the footsteps of Klarissa’s parents and designed a custom ring together at Nebraska Diamond. It was a moment full of meaning and intention, one we’ll always remember. Six months later—after a lot of patience (and maybe just a little pestering)—Skyler proposed at the summit of Pikes Peak in Colorado. Skyler always joked that he’d propose “next year”—as in 2025—so Klarissa had absolutely no idea what was coming when, in true Skyler fashion, he popped the question on New Year’s Eve, December 31, 2024. Klarissa, determined to spot a moose, a personal goal she had for the trip, had no idea what was unfolding. She didn’t even notice the friends Skyler had secretly brought along, or the photographer chasing them down a closed trail, all while Skyler tried to find the perfect moment to pop the question. When we’re not adventuring together, you’ll find us having Bob Ross paint nights (where Skyler insists he’s the better artist); swing dancing, where Klarissa consistently steals the show; or playing whatever card game Skyler decides he "has to win" that night. More often than not you can find us cooking dinner together or curled up with a binge worthy show. Life with each other is full of laughter, love, and just the right amount of friendly competition. Now, we’re planning the rest of our lives together and we’d love for you to join us and celebrate on our special day!
