New Year, New Leffew

Picture it... it's pre-pandemic D.C., November 9, 2019 to be exact, and Klaire just decided to move to Chicago in the Spring after spending nearly seven years in The District. In light of this exciting news, Klaire and her bestie (now Bridesmaid, Jill) decide to celebrate the upcoming move with a night out on the town. Enter Kevin, a D.C. native, who spotted this blonde neighbor girl of his wearing a unique fur coat as she waited for an Uber with a friend in the lobby of their building. While she waited, Klaire saw a Domino's pizza man attempting to enter the building unsuccessfully as he balanced 10+ pizzas for a party at Kevin's place. Klaire came to his aid. Klaire and Kevin's eyes met as he signed for the feast, and Kevin said, "If you girls want some pizza, you should head up to apartment 1148." Klaire and Jill looked at each other and swiftly replied, "Uhhh... we'll think about it," rolling their eyes as they headed out on their merry way. Fast forward to 2am... After a fun night on 14th Street, the girls had a change of heart about the pizza and miraculously remembered Kevin's apartment number. That's where Klaire and Kevin's story officially began - with a knock on the door of 1148 (as seen in the Snapchat above). Klaire, Kevin, Jill, and Kevin's roommate Ben ordered a fresh pizza and stayed up 'til sunrise. From that moment on, Klaire and Kevin were inseparable and began spending nearly every waking minute together. When Klaire moved to Chicago and once the pandemic hit in March 2020, Klaire and Kevin became nomads and spent time both apart and together at their parents' homes, and Kevin officially joined Klaire in the Windy City that December. After three years of living through unprecedented times, taking countless trips around the world, attending numerous concerts, blending their families, and growing their love for each other, they decided to spend forever together. On September 25, 2022, Kevin made it official. Kevin took Klaire on a walk along the Chicago River under the guise that the two were headed to dinner at Klaire's cousin's house for the Jewish new year (Rosh Hashanah), when in fact, Kevin had planned a beautiful proposal on the Wells Street Bridge, a few blocks from their apartment, where they had previously taken weekly selfies to send to their family groupchats during their two years of living together. Now, we invite you to celebrate our love and *ring* in the new year in Louisville, Kentucky on 1 - 2 - 3 - 1 - 2 - 3.
