Kj, a Dallas native, attended Emporia State University in Emporia, Kansas to play football. During the same time, Adrienn was attending ESU rival school, Pittsburg State University to play volleyball. Though paths never directly crossed... Over time, many mutual friends were created. Fast forward to 2022 - Kj's professional football career concluded, while Adrienn was on her third year as a Texas resident. On the weekend of June 24th, Kj was in Adrienn's hometown for a friend's wedding and Adrienn made a (less than 48 hour) trip home for her family reunion. Insert Natalie, Adrienn's high school bestie and also friend of Kj. Nat had been telling Adrienn for a year or two that she had a friend that would be a perfect match, but Adrienn wasn't interested because of distance. On Friday, June 24th - Natalie convinced Adrienn to meet her out in downtown Wichita to catch up with her and meet this friend that Adrienn swore she wouldn't be interested in (LOL)... Although it took Kj 45 minutes to FINALLY break the ice and converse with Adrienn (Adrienn will never let him live this down) .. The instant connection was undeniable - No matter how hard Adrienn tried to fight it. He got the digits and invited her to meet him at his friend's wedding reception THE NEXT DAY. Adrienn "wasn't interested" but decided to go hang out with him "just for the hell of it". She rushed around all day Saturday to find something to wear to impress (SO not interested) and when it was time to go to the reception, despite attempts to talk herself out of it (iykyk), that night was the beginning of forever! 🥹 The rest of the weekend they were inseparable. They met Friday, spent Saturday together at the reception, spent Sunday together at the pool, and instead of Adrienn heading back to Texas, she canceled her Monday meetings just to spend 1 more day with Kj - SO freakin' interested. — — — — — — — — We often laugh and chat about how we could have said "I do" by Monday, 3 days after meeting. We knew almost instantly that we belonged together and would do anything needed to make that happen. We met at the end of June, by November we were traveling to spend nearly every weekend together, and come January, Kj packed up his apartment and life in Dallas to move in with Adrienn in Houston. The rest is history. This love is a once in a lifetime love and we are so excited to spend the rest of forever TOGETHER as one! Cheers to the future Satchell's!
