The shuttle from the hotel to the venue leaves promptly at 3:15! We're excited to share that we have a room block for guests at the Hyatt Regency La Jolla At Aventine! While you are welcome to stay at your hotel of choice, we recommend reserving a room at The Hyatt to make your experience as convenient as possible. We've arranged a shuttle service to transport our guests to the venue and back to the hotel at the end of the night. Please keep in mind that securing an Uber after the reception might be a bit challenging. If you decide to stay elsewhere, you can always pay to park at the hotel or Uber and use the shuttle. Following the reception, you are welcome to meet up at Drift, Hyatt Hotel Bar, and Restaurant for a night cap.

Transportation

Uber/Lyft is the best travel method if you aren't renting a car. You can also take the Trolley's UC San Diego Blue Line. Navigating parking in downtown, Balboa, or coastal neighborhoods like Coronado, Pacific Beach, and Del Mar can be an adventure! While finding a spot might take a little time, rest assured you'll spot one eventually. A short walk might be involved, but think of it as an opportunity to enjoy the surroundings! For the best bet, go for street or metered parking. Unless you fancy the luxury of an Ace parking spot, in which case, it's just $30. Happy parking, and bring comfy shoes!

Travel Note

Welcome to our neighborhood (UTC/La Jolla)

The hotel is a 25-minute drive to the venue and a 10-minute drive to La Jolla Shores Beach. A short walking distance from the hotel you will find The Shops at La Jolla Village, where you can find various grocery stores, restaurants, and shopping like Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, CVS, Sephora, Nordstrom Rack, and more. The Shops at La Jolla Village is the last stop for The Trolley's UC San Diego Blue Line, which will go from UTC through downtown all the way to the border of Mexico. If you are up for it, we HIGHLY recommend walking to the Westfield UTC Mall, 1 mile from the hotel. In Kit's opinion, it is the best mall in the country, but we may be biased because we live across the street. They have a wide variety of food, shops, and entertainment options. Here are some of our favorites: FOOD - Javier's for upscale Mexican food. It can get loud at night because people come just for the bar, but the food is delicious and worth every penny. - Pazza Market & Cucina for a relaxed atmosphere, serving pizza and pasta. Our go-to is the Tagliatelle alla Bolognese or the Diavola pizza. - Queenstown Bistro is for New Zealand cuisine, with more of the lunch/ brunch spot atmosphere, but they also serve dinner. It is located outside the food court, with a relaxed garden vibe. They have the best chicken pot pie we've ever had. - Board and Brew a sandwich and beer spot. It's a casual spot for a quick lunch or a great Uber Eats option. - Blue Bottle Coffee has a very unique flavor and is worth the try. - Batch & Box (cookies) or Salt & Straw (ice cream) to kick your craving for something sweet. Salt & Straw has unique ice cream flavors, so please taste as many flavors as possible. - Raised by Wolves is a speak-easy whiskey bar with old-world decor that gives this hidden cocktail bar a sense of mystery. The UTC mall is enormous and has so many great options; we could go on and on. But this is a great spot to start if you want something close to the hotel.
