It’s a college football Saturday in 2018. Michigan beat Michigan State 21-7 and held them to 94 yards. Bennett thought his day couldn’t get any better until he got a notification from Hinge (the dating app) that a girl named Kit had liked his profile. Bennett took a screenshot of Kit’s profile and texted it to a close friend with the message “I’m going to marry her.” Kit and Bennett both graduated from the University of Michigan in 2016. They had similar social circles, so they knew of each other but hadn’t met. Shortly after that game day in 2018, they agreed to go on a date in Chicago. Date #1 was at an arcade bar, which left Bennett with a bruised ego from losing every game. Date #2 was axe throwing and Kit won again. Thankfully, Bennett reserves 99% of his competitive spirit for Michigan football, so he kept Kit around. Four football seasons later, with several months of quarantining together in between, they knew this was the real deal. Fast forward to St. Paddy’s Day 2023 - they made a trip to St. Simons Island, Georgia, which Kit believed would be a chill weekend spent with Bennett’s parents who had recently moved there. Little did she know (like zero inkling) that Bennett had planned the biggest surprise of her life. That’s when he got down on one knee, in the sand near the ocean at Sea Island, and popped the long-anticipated question. He had also organized for her family to fly in from California & Texas and it was simply perfect. Kit and Bennett are so excited to kick off the next phase of their lives together in August and can’t wait to celebrate with you. We are so happy you're here!
