Wedding Party

Kasheena Robinson

Maid of Honor

Kasheena and Kisha are cousins but grew up with each other. From riding bikes from King Robinson Dr to Grandma Pumpkins house to hanging out in Turnbull after school watching Disney movies on VCR in the living room. Beauty and the Beast included but Kisha would always convince Sheena to watch Aladin at least once a week. Sheena knew the skinny little girl with glasses who dreamed of one day marrying her prince charming. So that is one of the main reasons we both knew after Miguel proposed we wanted Sheena to be a part of our big day! The other reason she was one of the first calls was a few months before Miguel proposed Sheena was hanging out with the couple and she pulled Kisha aside and told her that man absolutely loves you, so I need you to sit on your hand and act like a lady. It was an inside joke between the cousins but many years later they both laughed uncontrollably. Sheena smile will light up any room she walks into. Sheena is driven, dedicated and one of the strongest people I know and that is why it is a true privilege to even know her.

Charise Lesane

Bridesmaid

Charise and Kisha are more than blood sisters. They jokily call each other publicist, therapist, she is definitely Kisha's financial advisor, and they are friends. Charise knows Kisha's dreams as well as her nightmares and was always there to speak life into whatever adventure Kisha was ready to take. Kisha will call Charise and say the words " Ok So" and Charise knows Kisha has a plan and she needs to bounce off her sister. That one conversation will last for hours and should never be recorded because they will talk about topics ranging from conspiracy theories, words of encouragement and motivation all on one call. Charise takes being the big sister job serious because without a shadow of the doubt she will protect her sister at all costs. So, when she said she 100 % approves of Miguel, Kisha knew she had a keeper. Charise has a heart of Gold and will always be there when she is needed. Charise has a passion to teach the youth and protect those who need someone in this world and for that I am proud to call her my big sister.

Alicia Jessup

Bridesmaid

Have you ever heard of the saying We Go Way Back Like Two Flats on a Cadilac? Well, this statement is 100% true with Alicia and Kisha they became friends in elementary school, thru the years they became best friends, they even ran the halls of the Original East Bladen (Go Cougars) together, she even convinced Kisha to go to the school prom and put makeup on. They worked together at the Lighthouse (Alicia worked and Kisha was always off eating). They may not talk everyday but when they get on the phone with each other it feels like no time has passed. Alicia witnessed some of Kisha rough days and she was there to remind Kisha she could get through it. When Kisha and Miguel reconnected, just like the other ladies in the bridal party Alicia noticed how happy Kisha was she took the time to speak positivity over Kisha and Miguel. Alicia is not only an amazing friend, but she is also family oriented, dedicated to helping her community one child at the time, she has worked with kids of all ages throughout the years.

Shadow Walters

Best Man

Shadow Walters has worked alongside Miguel for close to 5 years and has been a close and trusted friend of ours for almost that same amount of time. Their first meeting was during the early days of COVID, when a localized flu outbreak briefly placed them at the same workplace for a bit, in an attempt to shore up staffing at a location that had been hit especially hard and needed outside help in order to stay open. Their matching energy, and desire to lend a hand where it was needed, has been a defining characteristic of their relationship since their very first days working together. Over the years, Shadow has continued to be a dependable and steadfast friend (not only to Miguel), but to anyone fortunate enough to get to know him and experience his generosity firsthand. His presence throughout the early days of Kisha and Miguel’s renewed courtship, and eventual engagement, has placed him in the unique position of being there to witness this union almost from the very start. His continued encouragement and support meant a lot to us back then, which is why years later we look forward to finally having him celebrate with us (and the rest of our family) on our very special day.

Eric Gonzalez

Best Man

Miguel Gonzalez is the oldest of four and Eric Gonzalez is the brother that came immediately after him (and has been telling folks about it ever since.) Every year (for exactly 16 days) Miguel and Eric are temporarily the same age, and an unofficial “passing of the guard” takes place. Eric enters an age at the same time Miguel moves on to the next one, notes are compared, and hands are shaken. Since the very first time Kisha appeared in our yearly age exchange notes, Eric has been an avid supporter of our relationship and has even often volunteered his extensive knowledge of the US Interstate Highway System to ensure that no matter where Kisha is located in America, she can always find her way back to his brother. As the unofficial “Welcome Committee” of our family, his acceptance and approval of our union means a lot; although if you ask him, it was less of a “Welcome to the family” as it was a “What took ya’ll so long?” His participation in our special day has definitely been well earned, and will no doubt be a highlight in this year’s notes as well as many more to come. 😩. Eric is now a proud father of two beautiful queens, and in his own words - He is beyond grateful that Miguel is their uncle and Kisha is their aunt. Family means everything to me, and I’m lucky to have them in my life.

Adolfo Gonzalez

Best Man

Adolfo is the 3rd Gonzalez brother, and one of the first to bless our union in the days leading up to our surprise engagement. To us, one of the highest compliments you can pay to an acquaintance that (over time) has proven themselves to be a valuable and worthwhile friend, is to say that you “Love them like a brother.” A distinction that is not to be taken lightly, Adolfo understands fully what it meant when he said he was looking forward to finally welcoming Kisha into our family as a “Sister.” Coming from a brother that has long distinguished himself as someone that cares deeply about the strength and quality of our familial bonds, his encouragement and endorsement of this union bode well for our future. As such, we are happy to have him be a part of our wedding and further strengthen those bonds on our special day as well as many more years to come. He is also a loving father.

A Gail Robinson

Mother of the Bride

A Gail Robinson is the mother of the bride however My mother's love for her family speaks volume and it shows in all of her children. She has shown her love and dedication to our family every day and continues to teach Kisha how to be a lady as well as an amazing wife to Miguel and Kisha is proud to call her mom. Mrs. Robinson and Kisha bond over trips to thrift stores, a nice piece of cheesecake or a glass of the best wines. However, their bond goes deeper than that. Kisha still climbs in bed with her mom, and they laugh, talk, cry and enjoy each other's company. Mrs. Robinson raised all three of her kids to know we are special. She tells my older brother Hondre he is her favorite oldest son; she tells my youngest brother Gabe he is the favorite baby and of course she tells me I'm her favorite and only daughter. On today not only does she get to see her daughter get married she gains a son in law who sees the love she has for the family, and she loves him like he is one of hers.

Andrew E Robinson

Father of the Bride

Andrew Robinson is the Father of the Bride however he also Kisha's Hero he is the true definition of an Amazing Dad. Mr. Robinson is kind, he is fearless, he is loving, and he is generous. Mr. Robinson is known in the community as Termite but to us both he will always be Dad. The Father of the Bride set the example for what true love looks like no matter how old Kisha gets. He has been a shining light in Kisha's life all her life and he has now become a bright spot in Miguel's life. Miguel even works hard to ensure Kisha does not give Mr. Robinson any more gray hairs because Kisha can definitely be described as a spoiled Daddy's girl. For example, Andrew (Dad) still makes sure Kisha gets a gift for Valentine's Day he even collaborated with Miguel to ensure she had their favorite Chocolate. Fun story about Kisha and her dad, many years ago Mr. Robinson and Kisha would sneak away from the house in his blue and white Cadillac and go to the nearest gas station and get a Butterfinger and a Reese's and split it while he gave her life lessons. Which is a huge deal because Mr. Robinson is not big on talking unless he has something meaningful to say.

Marta Hernandez Gonzalez

Mother of the Groom

Mrs. Marta is the mother of three amazing men and one beautiful daughter. However her love goes beyond that, no matter where she goes, she spreads love to everyone she comes in contact with. One of those amazing young men (the oldest) is the reason we all here today. We all get to witness all the love she poured into him as he now vows to pour that love into his wife. No matter who I speak to the one thing every conversation has in common is her sacrifice for her family. Her unwavering dedication to not only her family but everyone she comes in contact with it is not only seen but felt. One of the reason Kisha fell head over hills for Miguel is because of the love she saw Miguel give his mom and vice versa. Marta has welcomed Kisha in her life with opened arms and that is truly a blessing any daughter in law can ask for.

Miguel Gonzalez

Father of the Groom

Mr. Miguel is full of strength, determination and knowledge.
