Patrick and I met on Tinder when he was living in Grand Forks for college and I was in St. Hilaire with my parents, finishing my vet tech internship. What started as a few conversations quickly grew into something more. We bonded over UND hockey, movies, and our shared love of dogs. One of our early “adventures” was walking nearly two miles back to Patrick’s college house after a night downtown. It became a common occurrence for us, even in the middle of North Dakota winters when it was freezing outside. We never learned, but those walks turned into some of our funniest memories together. A big milestone for us was packing up our lives and moving across the country from Minnesota to Texas. We even broke down in Iowa along the way, but instead of arguing, we just laughed through it. That trip showed us just how strong we are together. Patrick popped the question during a round of golf, right after I teed off on hole five. It was my first time golfing since taking lessons, and the setting couldn’t have been more perfect. It was quiet, a little secluded, and just us. Now, we’re excited to put down roots in our new home and begin this next chapter together as husband and wife.
