Our Story (Josh's perspective)

Yes... I was the catfish

So there I was... deployed to Afghanistan and getting ready to come back home. Anyone familiar with Abilene knows the quality of the dating scene, so I set my Hinge location to Flower Mound, TX; a small suburb of Ft Worth because I didn't want to be "from" Ft Worth and I liked the name. Not long after, I matched with this beautiful woman! After a couple days of texting, she asks what I do in Flower Mound, and this is how it went: "Um... I don't actually live in Flower Mound... or Ft Worth. I live in Abilene." "Oh... ok..." "And I'm also about 3,000 miles away right now" "Oh... ok... -____-" From there, Kisa expected to just be pen pals while we continued to text through the rest of my deployment, and into R&R. After spending a week in Colorado with family, I called Kisa on my drive back to Abilene and asked what she was doing the next day because I wanted to drive out to Dallas to actually meet. She planned the most amazing first date. We started at a coffee shop, then moved over to a brewery for lunch. From there we spent the day wandering around at the Perot Science Museum in Dallas. We finished off the date with sushi. She did such an amazing job that I had to recreate that date 2 years later when I proposed!

My Turn! (Kisa's Perspective)

I was a victim of catfishing.

Catfished but in the best way! I fully expected Josh and I to be penpals so when he came out to visit me to Flower Mound I was so happily surprised! We had the best first date that we never stopped, Josh even recreated our first date on our engagement day!
