A wedding so nice, we're doing it twice!

On this day, Kirti showed up to the first meeting of her first day at Roland Foods for an introduction to Chris. Although the conversation was lively, Kirti and Chris both left the conference room unaware that this was perhaps a meeting of fate. Over the next six months, Kirti and Chris became fast friends, often spending most of their happy hour time that could have been spent with all of their co-workers only with each other. It was shortly before Christmas that year at one of those happy hours that Chris gathered the courage to ask Kirti out for coffee....to which she said "Oooh, I don't drink coffee." Ready for the lob, Chris asked "Okay, what about tea?" Without missing a beat, Kirti explained that, "We are co-workers. That would be weird, but thanks." Skip to February 2019, Chris was lucky enough to get the yes and he and Kirti had their first date. The rest is history.

Chris chose to propose to Kirti in Denver, since they were anticipating moving there in 2021. Under the guise of needing to scout the city before signing on for an apartment, Chris convinced Kirti to leave the safety of quarantine for a trip that would be "totally worth it". Kirti did suspect that this was a proposal, but her sister Pooja and cousin Rashmi, Chris' trusted advisors and co-conspirators, gave oscar-worthy performances and threw her off of the trail. The proposal took place in the Denver Dairy Block alleyway and with the help of strategically planted celebratory champagne and a hidden photographer, Chris got his yes and Kirti's complete surprise. The best part was that this time, it only took one try.

Unsure of the restrictions that COVID-19 would continue to impose on having the wedding they wanted to share with family and friends and in anticipation of a move to Denver in January, Chris and Kirti chose to hold an intimate wedding ceremony in Chris' home town of Southport, CT. They were able to share their ceremony and vows with the rest of their families over Zoom. The ceremony was followed by a chef-catered dinner at Chris' family home, with only immediate family. Chris & Kirti are honored to celebrate their marriage with their friends and family in June 2022.
