We are doing quite a bit on the day of the wedding. Here's a layout for the day so you can plan accordingly: 0930 - 1000: Guest arrival at Hindu Temple 1000 - 1030: Groom's arrival. On a chariot! (Feel free to make fun of Chris for this hehe) 1030 - 1130: Hindu Ceremony 1130 - 1200: Pictures with guests and family 1200 - 1pm: Lunch (vegetarian Indian food only) 1pm -5pm: Free time. Feel free to head to the Morton Arboretum early or take a nap/chill until evening. 5pm-530pm: Guest arrival at Morton Arboretum 530pm-6pm: Christian ceremony 6pm-7pm: Cocktail hour 7pm-midnight: Reception
Hindu ceremony: 1 hour long (sorry, this is actually a shortened version believe it or not). Evening Ceremony: 1/2 hour See above for the run down of the day!
Unfortunately no. Given that guests will likely be staying at multiple different places, we were unable to find a shuttle to help with transportation. But uber should be readily available and if you drive yourself, there is plenty of free parking available near both venues (Hindu Temple and Morton Arboretum).
The groom's arrival during the morning ceremony will be outside (weather permitting). The remainder of the morning ceremony will be inside. Evening ceremony will be outside (again weather permitting). Cocktail hour and reception will be inside.
Morning: Cocktail attire or festive Indian clothes. Please note that this is a place of worship. Shoulder and knees must be covered! Evening: Cocktail attire or festive Indian clothes.
