Our story started when we were in the sixth grade. We were close through our middle school and high school years - Alden crushed on Kirstin, and he was her best guy friend. Kirstin moved away during our sophomore year of high school, but we always kept in touch. We both moved around during our college days and the years shortly after, but we somehow always ended up living near each other, seeing each other from time to time. How did we end up where we are now? Well, Alden never missed a call to Kirstin on her birthday. In 2019, when he called, something finally clicked… Kirstin hung up the phone with tears in her eyes. Her friend, Hannah, said, “y'all are going to end up getting married.” A couple months later, Kirstin asked Alden (and his dog, Biggie) to dinner, and the rest is history… Alden left the very next day for the Game Warden Academy. He graduated in 2020 and was sent to Zapata in south Texas. A couple months later, Kirstin packed up her house in Austin and joined him. We lived in Zapata for a couple of years before moving to east Texas in December of 2022. Only 10 days after our move, Alden took Kirstin to a state park where he got down on one knee and took her by total surprise!
