Question

Why did you decide to elope?

Answer

We have loved attending and participating in all our friends' and family members' gorgeous weddings throughout the years. However, we decided that the challenge of planning and executing a wedding was not something we wanted to take on during this season in our life.

Question

When and where will you elope?

Answer

We will be eloping in Florence, Italy, on December 23, 2024. We will wake up before sunrise and meet our photographer, who will capture our most memorable day in front of the city's cherished gems, including the Arno River, the Ponte Vecchio, and of course, the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore (i.e., the Duomo). We will then traverse the San Miniato al Monte, ending at the Piazzale Michelangelo, where we will exchange our vows and begin our lives together. We will spend the rest of the day sipping espresso, eating bucatini amatriciana (iykyk), and walking the same streets Michelangelo, Da Vinci, Dante, Machiavelli, and Botticelli walked hundreds of years ago.

Question

Why Florence?

Answer

If you are friends with Kirstin, you know that she loves all things Italian. She lived in Florence for a few months in 2019 before she began dating Shawn, and she fell head over heels in love with the architecture, history, language, and food. Ever since, she has been learning Italian, cooking Italian food as often as possible, and dreaming of returning to the most beautiful city in the entire world. When she and Shawn decided to elope, the decision to wed in Florence was an obvious one.

Question

Will you have a reception Stateside?

Answer

We have not planned a reception Stateside. However, we hope to share a bottle of Prosecco with anyone and everyone who wishes to celebrate with us.

For all the days along the way
