Maid of Honor
I met Mary in 2010 at a street festival in Chicago. By the end of the night, we were holding hands and making plans for the summer together. Our friendship quickly blossomed into one where we were virtually inseparable, including yoga, Lakeshore Drive runs, mirror dance parties, and late night therapy sessions. My family has embraced Mary as an honorary member of our family, and she has always done the same. Mary left Chicago to marry her Navy fighter pilot husband at the same time I moved to London to get my Masters. We both cried so much realizing we may never live in the same city again, but I truly think our relationship has continued to grow. She's been my rock prior to Kevin, and his #1 supporter since the start of our relationship.
Best Man
For my entire life, I have been incredibly lucky to have two older brothers who I count as my best friends. Mark & David have supported me, made me laugh and been so generous with their time & love. While they will be standing next to me on July 8th, they will be representing my whole family that has never left my side in 37 years. Since moving to Chicago after college, Mark and I have been inseparable. 20's turned into 30's, and nights at the bar turned into Saturday's in the backyard with my nephew, but he has always been there for me. When Kirsti and I reconnected early on, and I was traveling back and forth to Denver quite a bit, Mark's better half, Kim, said "You are not allowed to fall in love and move to Denver". I've never been much of a rule breaker, but I have no regrets!
Bridesmaid
Kaylyn and I realized when she moved to Denver in 2019 that we hadn't lived in the same city since she was 6 years old! Because of our age difference, we haven't gotten the opportunity to spend more time together and develop a friendship and real sister bond as adults until more recently. Kaylyn's time in Denver was an awesome opportunity not only for her and I to grow closer, but for Kevin to develop a relationship with her that I think is really special. Over the past couple of years, Kaylyn and I have done some amazing things together (our first 14er, camping and white water rafting, and even just weeknight hangout sessions) that we didn't get to do as kids. I'm so blessed to have the amazing family that I have, and am grateful Kaylyn will be there standing beside me as I marry Kevin.
Groomsman
Dave and I haven't lived in the same city, let alone the same house for over 20 years, yet our conversations and his presence in my adult life makes me feel more at home than I can describe. I've spent days of my life on the phone with my big brother, from discussing the smallest sports minutiae to life's biggest event. He's incredibly devoted to his family and his career, yet he's never to busy to answer my call. Having both my brothers standing next to me on my wedding day is incredibly special for me, but more importantly has been having them in my life to set a great example to follow, and for this next step in life, how to be a great husband and father.
