Co-Maid of Honor
Boston, MA Mackenzie and Kirsten first met in their early days of Capital Region Tennis Camp. They continued to cross paths over the years as common members of the Albany NY tennis community. Ultimately, they found themselves both playing for The Sage Colleges tennis team in 2012. And then, after Mackenzie graduated, she was an Assistant Coach while Kirsten played out her Senior year! From then on, Mackenzie and Kirsten were forever besties! Beyond tennis, Mackenzie and Kirsten have bonded over their shared love of travel (which led to a European excursion together), wineries, friendship-threatening board games, and, more recently, pickleball!
Co-Maid of Honor
Orlando, FL Tracie and Kirsten first met at a LifeChurch youth group during their high school years. They bonded during a church camp trip that brought them all the way to Oklahoma! The two were fast friends from there on out. At the time, the two bonded over their love of Twilight (one a bit more obsessed than the other...) and shared teenage shenanigans (which eventually gave way to 20's shenanigans...). Tracie and Kirsten's friendship has brought them on multiple excursions to Orlando (to visit bridesmaid Christina!), out to Las Vegas, New York City, and countless trips to Boston (visiting Co-Maid of Honor, Mackenzie!). Through many of life's ups and downs, Tracie and Kirsten have become undeniable lifelong friends, no matter the distance!
Bridesmaid
Brooklyn, NY Sister of the Bride, Maggie grew up alongside Kirsten playing barbies and choreographing late night dance routines. The two were never at a loss for coming up with something entertaining to do together. Despite the distance over the years, Maggie and Kirsten have always fallen right back into nights of full belly laughter every time they're back together!
Bridesmaid
Sunnyvale, CA Sister in Law of the Bride, Carol, has been a part of the family for over a decade! From many Alabama Christmases playing games, baking cookies and attending midnight Christmas Eve church service to traveling to Patagonia, Peru, and several US National Parks, you could say Kirsten and Carol have formed a bit of a bond. Next step: Buy houses on the same cul-de-sac (in the Northeast, of course!)
Bridesmaid
Portland, OR Sarah and I grew up in Southington, Connecticut. We went to the same three schools before college and were always 2 grades apart. Sarah was always competitive and that brought out a competitive side in myself. I looked up to Sarah through a lot of my childhood because she was always strong. Sarah has always brought knowledge and experience to the table to challenge the common opinion and make others reevaluate their perspective. Kirsten and I are extremely happy to have Sarah stand with us and be a part of our Wedding.
Bridesmaid
Orlando, FL Christina and Kirsten met on their tennis team playing for The Sage Colleges. They would go to yoga classes together, and eventually lived together in their rustic?, yeah we'll go with that, apartment in Troy, NY. From there, Christina and Kirsten had a lot of fun nights sharing laughs and hanging out with Christina's bunny, Flynn. Kirsten has a lot of Flynn nibbles on various items that she will always have as a keepsake from their days living together! In recent years, Kirsten has taken many trips down to Orlando visiting Christina and making all the memories!
Bridesmaid
Albany, NY Tanya and Kirsten met while in High School through Tanya's sister (Co-Maid of Honor, Tracie!). Both being relatively reserved girls at the time, Kirsten and Tanya would awkwardly wave at each other in passing through the halls of Guilderland High School. Through the years, Tanya and Kirsten have grown incredibly close, bonding through late nights out on the town and as they both went through the same Nutrition program at Russell Sage College (a few years apart).
Bridesmaid
New Haven, CT Annie and Kirsten met on Craigslist (the start of all great relationships). Annie was searching for a roommate and Kirsten was searching for a place to live! Annie and Kirsten instantly hit it off and spent their few months living together going rock climbing, taking some beach trips, and acclimating Annie's new cat, Roo, to their apartment! Annie has also spent lots of time with Kirsten and Jake since the earliest days of their relationship, including some nights at Barcade, fires in the yard in New Haven, board game nights and lots of time playing with Holly and Sammy!
Co-Best Man
Southington, CT I have known Travis since Sophomore year of High School and we have been friends ever since. We spent almost every day of Junior and Senior year together and got together whenever possible when I was away at college. We have competed together and against one another through the last decade at different things that have made us both better. We typically won against whoever we came up against. Happy to have this man as my Best Man and the Father of my god daughter, Daphne.
Co-Best Man
Hamden, CT Greg and I met through Joey (another groomsman), we spent our time riding bikes to Memorial Park and on Greg's 16th birthday we both got jobs at People's Choice Pizza. We spent years working together and when I went to college we stayed in touch by playing online games. Together, we put about 1500 hours into DOTA2 alone during those years. We have both shown or exposed one another to many different hobbies that we both continue to this day. Greg's perspective on life has always been something I have admired and I have always appreciated his advice or opinion on most any topic. Happy to have Greg as my Best Man.
Officiant
Sunnyvale, CA Brother of the Bride, Luke, grew up alongside Kirsten in Guilderland NY. Luke and Kirsten have grown close in recent years bonding over their shared love for travel and exploration. They also both have an affinity for great board games (Dominion is number 1!). Luke met Jake for the first time on their National Parks trip where Jake proposed to Kirsten! The two instantly connected over their shared enjoyment of nerdy novels (yes - this is Kirsten writing this) and over lots of games of Five Crowns (which is basically initiation into our family). Kirsten an Jake couldn't be more excited for Luke to officiate their wedding ceremony! They're still hoping he re-grows (and styles! his quarantine beard for the big day!
Groomsman
Mobile, AL Brother of the Bride, Tyler, grew up alongside Kirsten in Guilderland, NY. Although they're seven years apart in age (Kirsten's older, in case it's hard to tell with the height difference these days!), Tyler and Kirsten grew up with all the sibling rivalry that would be expected in siblings a little closer in age. From chasing each other around the house to competing in Mario Kart, Tyler and Kirsten had a ton of fun growing up together. Although the years have brought them further apart in distance (with Tyler living in Alabama now), Tyler and Kirsten always find the time to catch up and fall right back into some great discussions whenever they're back together.
Groomsman
New Haven, CT Josh and I met in College on my 18th birthday. I made some new friends in his room by bringing an offering of a much prized gift at the time: a couple bottles of liquor! We spent the next two years living together and continued to hangout after that. Josh has always stood out as a good person with a level head and can make me laugh harder than most anyone. Josh has been living with me for the last year even before Kirsten moved in. If Kirsten and I die, Josh can take Sammy.
Groomsman
Palm Springs, FL Joey and I met early in Sophomore year and we had so many laughs over the next three years of High School. Joey and I were the first to start working out at the gym at the start of Senior year and ended up inspiring car fulls of people to workout over the rest of the year. Driving around in Joeys old GMC Jimmy was one of my happy places through High School. We road bikes and, even in the winter, defied the cold to walk around and spend time talking together. Florida seems like a much more appealing state knowing Joey's down there and I'm much quicker to buy a plane ticket there these days.
Groomsman
Wolcott, CT Billy is my oldest friend, we met in Kindergarten (Mrs. Rosey). I would go to Billys house when i was in elementary school and it was extremely convenient to walk home because our backyards were separated by about 30 yards. We hung out a lot in High School and went to the gym very often senior year were we had some of our funniest laughs. Through High School and College we would always have parties and we always ended up being an amazing timeAfter college, we played ultimate frisbee in the park every Sunday throughout the summer which was the highlight of my weekends. I has happy to stand with Billy at his Wedding and I couldn't imagine standing up here without him.
Groomsman
Oslo, Norway Henrik and I have probably the funniest meeting because we "met" each other at different times. He hated me at first because I left work a bit early every other day while we were working at our college's Help Desk. We then, months later, met in a bar; he didn't remember me, but I remembered him. I had no hard feelings and we became great friends. Months later, we mentioned how we met and he was shocked that guy at the Help Desk was me! We spent the remainder of College hanging out in bars always having a great time: 50 Cent Wing Wednesday, playing pool at Blarny's with a blue Long Island Iced Tea. These nights will always hold a special place in my heart. I visited Henrik after college when he was living back home in Norway and we had a great time exploring.
