Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Kirsten Marisa Kellstrom and Mikhail Calkins
*Written by Cathy Kellstrom While many of you are probably more familiar with Denver, Golden, Colorado, near where we are hosting the reception is also worth visiting. It's just 20 minutes from downtown Denver. In that short distance, you're transported to a Wild West town with mining roots (hence the name). There are plenty of things to do in Golden, including historical attractions, outdoor activities, and more.

Miners Saloon

1109 Miner's Alley, Golden, CO 80401

The Buffalo Restaurant & Bar

1617 Miner Street, Idaho Springs, CO 80452

If you're up for a day trip to the mountains, a stop in the charming old mining town of Idaho Springs, just off of I-70 is a must do. Idaho Springs was the scene of Misha's proposal to Kirsten and where they had their first date. Our family always stopped there on our way to or back from Snowmass/Aspen for our ski vacations. The Buffalo Restaurant has been renovated since those days, but it's still an excellent spot to sample craft beers and eat buffalo burgers. Check out the barrel tables in the back. An ingenious Covid innovation for germ-free dining....
