You can fly into Key West International Airport (EYW) or Miami International Airport (MIA) - both are about 1:40 from Islamorada. Fort-Lauderdale (FLL) would also be an option and is about 2:10 hours away from Islamorada. If you want the easiest way, fly into Key West directly, as it’s a tiny airport and you won’t have significant traffic at any time of day. Car rental is recommended and available at all airports. Shuttle services along the keys may be available using https://www.keysshuttle.com/ If you will have extra seats going to/from the airport and/or want to see about riding with others from a nearby airport please copy and paste the link below, and join our carpool spreadsheet! https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/102d7OQBLKnWNvoIl3iHieVF_wYC1DK6YaXPMr627kgg/edit?usp=sharing
Typical January/February in the keys is beautiful! Average daily highs are around 76°F, and average lows are around 66-68°F, but it of course can vary. It also tends to be dry, with little rain. We will be able to hold the activities inside Pierre's if there is weather, although we certainly are hoping to be outside!
We hope our guests will consider arriving around 4:30-4:45pm and they will be greeted with champagne and can mingle, visit the welcome table and find a seat once prompted. The wedding ceremony will begin promptly at 5:00pm and be followed by sunset, cocktail hour and dinner/dancing!
No, but it is on a flat sandy area and the reception will be on this surface as well. Choose wedges, chunky heels, or dressy sandals instead of stilettos to manage the sand. See the image above of the wedding area. We will have some flip flops available to dance in if you want to ditch your dress shoes!
The reception will likely end around 9:30pm Friday evening. We may venture to a local bar or back to Cheeca for those up to it afterwards!
Cheeca and most of the area hotels have a shuttle that runs between the hotels and area venues, including Pierre’s. There is ample parking at the venue as well as uber/lyft service in the area. Police presence to find drunk drivers is usually heavy, so please plan accordingly and let us know if you need help with transportation after one of the events!
We will be having heavy hors d'oeuvres, a raw bar and some action stations for dinner. If you have little ones joining that you are worried about, please message us or indicate this on the RSVP notes so we can request a children's plate for them through the venue!
Please put this on the RSVP notes and also message us to be sure we can accommodate you!
Yes! We would love all of our friends and family to make this a weekend of celebration and join us if they can!
