We're Getting Married!

We met in the swamps of Mississippi! Ha, well actually, We met while volunteering with Americorps, a national service program similar to Peace Corps at the Vicksburg, MS campus. We were on the same team and spent a year traveling the US together working on disaster relief. We became close friends, which eventually led to more (Ameri-love is what we call it). However, once the program ended we didn't think we would see each other again. Jesus was from California, and I was from Pennsylvania. But we made it a priority to keep in touch. Thus began our long distance relationship that lasted for over a year and a half. We talked to each other every day until we reunited in person on a trip to Disneyland! We continued to visit each other here and there until we eventually moved in together. 8 years later, with so much life and adventure in-between, we are excited to start this next chapter together!

Jesus proposed to me on my birthday in Lake Arrowhead, CA. Unbeknownst to me, Jesus had purchased my engagement ring a year earlier and wanted to plan a proposal while visiting my family in Pennsylvania. However, due to the pandemic, we were unable to travel. Unsure of how long the pandemic would last and not wanting to wait any longer, Jesus popped the question 1 minute to midnight while hanging out in our cozy cabin, watching our favorite TV show. I did not see it coming at all! But of course I said yes! It was a birthday I will always remember. We can't wait to celebrate with all of you! See you in Vegas, Baby!
