Who would have thought we'd find each other first at work, then in the very beginnings of the pandemic. Kirsten started working for BofA in October of 2018 and George was the quality analyst who reviewed her work. Through conversations at our cubes and the coffee station, there was interest and attraction, however, romance was not really on the table due to our positions. Eventually by December of 2019 Kirsten had changed roles and there was no longer a "conflict of interest", though neither of us were sure. Come March of 2020, Kirsten was on vacation when the call to work from home occurred, meaning there couldn't be in-person greetings of "Good morning George!" "Good Morning Kirsten!" and that was more difficult than the technical challenges of changing our work situations completely. Luckily there is Skype. After several days of long online conversations, Kirsten took a deep breath and started typing a message to ask George for coffee, when a message popped up from George, asking Kirsten for coffee. Three days later, we met outside at San Marco, never got coffee, but we did have lunch on a bench, and talked for four hours. At the end, it was agreed we'd meet again the next Saturday, for coffee. Kirsten was two hours late through a comedy of errors. George waited. Since then we have bought a house, met and fallen in love with each others children, adopted rats, planted flowers, and created roots. It hasn't always been perfect, but we are a family. We work together. And we are blessed to be able to celebrate this with our loved ones.
