David and Kirsten miraculously met right before the pandemic at WAL-Mart of all places. As the saying goes… the rest was history! Despite the world soon shutting down with the quarantine rules into effect, Kirsten and David still made a point to connect. From Google Hangout dates to hand-written letters, they developed a strong friendship and deep love for one another. Eventually Kirsten met David’s three kids - Jackson, Blair, and Brynnan- and they quickly became friends and spent time exploring, swinging, and playing games. Fast Forward to February 2022, when David surprised Kirsten at the Strawn Family Farm with a hide-and-seek proposal. When Kirsten found David and the kids they shared letters with the "reasons why they love Kirsten" and then David asked Kirsten to be part of the Burkhalter family. On July 26th, David and Kirsten made the decision to legally become husband and wife and are celebrating their love with their friends and family in October at the Strawn Family Farm.
