Things To Do

Both Kirsten and Danny grew up summering in the cape, here's a few of their favorite local spots to try out!

Cape Cod Rail Trail

Cape Cod Rail Trail (Bike/Running Trail), Orleans, MA

This biking/walking/running trail runs through Yarmouth, Dennis, Harwich, Brewster, Orleans, Eastham and Wellfleet Cape Cod and is the perfect way to get around sans car. If staying in Orleans or Eastham, we recommend looking up how close where you're staying is to it and renting a bike in town (Orleans main street has several places) or bring your own! Dan and Kir roller blade it throughout the summer, it's a great way to stay active and see the cape!

Hot Chocolate Sparrow

Hot Chocolate Sparrow

5 Old Colony Way, Orleans, MA 02653
, (508) 240-2230

A local favorite offering delicious coffee drinks, and a full Cafe with great sandwiches and lunch options. However, the real reason to go here is for the Candy Shop which offers handmade fudge, chocolates, and just about any candy you can think of. Bring your stretchy pants! **This is also just off the bike trail, so you can easily bike here from your hotel/air-bnb and earn those carbs!

Sunbird Cape Cod

85 Massachusetts 6A, Orleans, MA 02653
, (508) 237-0354

A great option for anyone looking for a healthier breakfast or lunch! You can order to go or sit down inside to eat, they serves beer and cocktails (yay!), Despite the name, their "bird turds", which are the most delicious "power ball" of dates, nuts, candied ginger, brown rice puffs & toasted coconut - are a must-order. They are ADDICTIVE, so we advise buying several so you don't get the hangries when asked to share them.

Hole In One Bakery & Coffee Shop

4295 U.S. 6, Eastham, MA 02642
, (508) 255-9446

This bakery makes fresh donuts every morning, Kirsten grew up on these and considers the "dirt bomb" muffins one of the 5 essential food groups. You can also do sit-down breakfast at the orleans location!

Corner Store

54 Main Street, Orleans, MA 02653
, (508) 255-5454

Perfect spot to grab lunch on the go - has some of the best sandwiches/burritos that are made to order.

Young's Fish Market

Young's Fish Market

113 Rock Harbor Road, Orleans, MA 02653
, 508-255-3366

Offers what is, in our humble opinion, THE BEST lobster rolls in the game. Served old-school style in a hot-dog bun, you can do cold with mayo or hot with butter, or both!

Friendly Fisherman

Friendly Fisherman

4580 State Highway, Route 6, Eastham, MA 02642
, 508-255-6770

An awesome hidden local gem that has outdoor seating and offers up laid back, fresh, and delicious sea-food (we recommend all fried options). Their fried-scallops over fries are well worth the carbs. Great casual lunch spot for people with families/kids!

Pisces Restaurant

2653 Main Street, Chatham, MA 02633
, 508-432-4600

A cozy little date night spot in Chatham (which is the next town over), we recommend the risotto and several Bellini cocktails!

Homeport Restaurant

55 Main Street, Orleans, MA 02653
, (508) 255-4069

A great spot to grab your classic American breakfast! Good for just two or large groups. They also serve up lunch and desserts.
