We first met at the famous Fudpucker 4s Beach Tournament in Ft. Walton Beach Florida in October of 2018 with the help of Jim Schoen and Keith Kubicek, two of Fudpuckers greatest players of all time who also happen to be our family. Originally nothing was pursued as we lived in two different states and had no interest in a long distance situation. The following July of 2019, we reconnected at the AVP Beach tournament in Hermosa Beach, California with no knowledge of one another's attendance. We spent a lot of time together in California and connected with each other seamlessly, and continued to communicate long distance with no intentions of dating...UNTIL...Fudpuckers in October of 2019 where we spent the entire weekend playing beach volleyball and were fairly inseparable. Both still in denial that we would become a couple, we proceeded to attend one another's family holiday celebrations (because that is super normal, right?) and everything really just started to click, so we decided to pursue the long distance relationship that we both were oh so thrilled about tackling. The pandemic brought both of us a lot of rough times, but it also ended up becoming a huge blessing in a way.. we no longer had to be in a long distance relationship and could spend a lot more time together, coaching and playing volleyball, and dating like a normal couple. What started as a trail of coincidences and coast to coast travel for the sport we along with our families love so much, grew into the greatest love story we could not have even imagined possible. We are so grateful to all of the people in our lives, especially Jim Schoen, who helped to bring us together, but mostly to God for putting in place this crazy journey to love for the two of us.
