All invited guests will be listed on the invitations and RSVPs. While we adore your all your kids, our wedding celebration will be limited to children of immediate family.
Please RSVP on our website or by mailing your card by June 10, 2024.
Formal/Cocktail Attire. For our summer wedding, our ceremony will be held outdoors on a boat. We suggest that guests wear a lightweight suit in any color, a cocktail dress or a nice pantsuit. Please keep the heat in mind to dress accordingly!
We are encouraging guests to wear bright colors or jewel tones. Think wildflowers, and vibrant summer colors as this is a fun, exciting celebration!
There is very limited parking directly in front of the venue, but luckily there is ample parking on the surrounding streets, including Northlake Way. We strongly encourage you to: *Carpool with other guests *Uber/Lyft. **We especially encourage Uber/Lyft if you plan on consuming alcohol and/or plan on staying overnight in Seattle.
The MV Skansonia is fully ADA compliant. The parking is limited and the ground outside is uneven. Inside the venue, there is 1 restroom on the main floor that is fully accessible. There are no stairs required to access the ceremony space, dining area, or dance floor.
The ceremony will be held outside on the bow of the boat (weather permitting). Cocktail hour will be outdoors, with dinner inside. The MV Skansonia has 2 large rolling doors that open to provide air flow, as well as indoor/outdoor access. Dancing will be indoor/outdoor.
A Seattle summer is arguably the best time of year to experience the PNW. Historical averages for late July in Seattle are 78 degrees. However, in recent years, Seattle has experienced heat waves, and we will update forecasts for the day closer to the wedding. The venue generally remains cooler without AC due to the location on Lake Union, large doors to allow for airflow, and several ceiling fans. In past years, the heat has not been a problem at this location!
Please indicate any dietary restrictions on your RSVP and accommodations will be made.
There will be hors d'voeuvres served at cocktail hour, followed by a buffet-style dinner. A dessert bar and a late-night snack will be available later in the evening.
Beer and wine will be provided, along with lemonade, coffee, tea and water. There will be no hard alcohol served.
Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift we could ask for! If you would like to honor us with a gift, we are requesting a contribution to our honeymoon or house fund found on our website registry. If you would like to send a card or physical gift, you can have it delivered to our home at 10922 Briar Road SW, Lakewood, WA 98499. A wedding card box will be at our reception.
The ceremony time is 5:30, but we will be asking guests to arrive and be seated at 5:15, a few minutes before the ceremony begins. Take in the views and watch a few seaplanes!
A cocktail hour will directly follow the ceremony located on the boat, and will include hors d'oeuvres and drinks. There will be some of our favorite games available to play, along with other activities.
Please refrain from taking photos during the ceremony. Afterwards, we welcome and encourage you to take as many photos as you wish! The venue is stunning, as are all of you.
There will be signs with QR codes that link to a digital album where guests can share photos + videos. We would LOVE to see photos of all our guests and your special moments! You can also upload photos + videos to this website after the wedding: https://weduploader.com/upload/PzudhfcoTXU2YBYF
Our wedding website on your invitation will have all wedding information + updates leading up to the day.
