From Kirsten's perspective: I would delete and re-download Hinge (dating app) in a frustrating cycle of weird dates, and I mean weird, ask me about the SUV full of men with saxophones. Every time I would re-download the app one of the first people to like me would be Alex. It felt a little clingy, but after maybe the 20th time this happened he wore me down. We went on a date in Carrboro, North Carolina. I was impressed Alex was willing to drive over 2 hours round trip for our date! I think one of the first questions after the normal conversation about work, where are you from, etc. that I asked Alex was, "Is Ohio part of the Midwest"? If you know Alex, the rest was really history after this. From Alex's perspective: I would keep trying to go on dates but just stay stuck in a cycle of bad dates. I matched with Kirsten, immediately misspelled her name, and recovered enough to go on a date to Luna’s with her. I struggled to find parking since it was my first time in Carrboro and I showed up ten minutes late. I was hoping I hadn't already blown it after I saw how beautiful she was. After a nice first date conversation Kirsten tried to argue that Ohio isn’t the Midwest which ended with her happily agreeing Ohio is definitely a state in the Midwest (at least that's how I remember it).
