Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Elizabeth Flick and Matthew Kirshner
We will provide lots more details for self-guided, Liz-guided, and Matt-guided Montana activities for the week of the wedding. For now, rest assured that there are more activities than you can manage in Whitefish and the Flathead Valley. Some highlights to look forward to are: 1) Glacier National Park: GNP is a 30-minute drive from Whitefish for sight-seeing, hiking or the famous Red Bus Tours. 2) Whitefish Downtown: Whitefish is a world-class resort town with galleries, breweries, distilleries galore. 3) Whitefish Lake: Whitefish Lake is ~5min drive from downtown Whitefish and great for boating, jet-skiing, paddle-boating and more. 4) Blue Moon Rodeo: On Thursdays, nearby Blue Moon hosts a local rodeo. 5) Whitefish Mountain Resort: WMR ski resort has top tier hiking and downhill mountain biking trials.
Glacier National Park

Glacier National Park

MT

When visiting Montana, we highly recommend visiting Glacier National Park and its famous Going-to-the-Sun-Road. You can plan to pick specific hikes to do, or just drive the road up to Logan Pass and have your mind blown by how beautiful it is. There are three ways to enter Glacier: 1) No Reservation: You can always enter with your car before 7am or after 3pm without a reservation. 2) With a Reservation: You can get a reservation/ticket for your car. They open 120 days before the day, and sell out quickly. They then re-open to get a reservation everyday over the summer 1 day before the reservation day (so log into the website early morning one day before your intended trip day). Reservation Link: https://www.recreation.gov/timed-entry/10087086/ticket/10087087 3) Buy a RedBus Tour: If you don't want to drive yourself, get a famous Red Bus Tour (https://www.glaciernationalparklodges.com/red-bus-tours/)

Downtown Whitefish

Downtown Whitefish

Downtown Whitefish has whatever you're looking for from great coffee and cafes (Favorites: Montana Coffee Traders, Fleur, Wild Coffee), breakfast joints (Favorites: Buffalo Cafe), dinner spots (Favorites: Abruzzo's, Tupelo's, The Golf Course), breweries (Favorites: Blackstar Brewing, Bonsai Brewing), distilleries (Favorites: Spotted Bear) and nightlife (Favorites: The Great Northern, the Remington).

Whitefish Lake

Whitefish Lake

Whitefish, MT 59937

Whitefish Lake is a short ~2min drive from downtown Whitefish. You can hit one of the great state park beaches around the lake (City Beach is the most popular, but more secluded options exist), or go hang out at the Tiki Bar at Whitefish Lake Lodge. There are plenty of boat or jet ski rental options in town as well, as well as from the Lodge. We expect to be spending a lot of time on the lake in the week prior to the wedding, and will be hitting the Tiki Bar after the post-wedding brunch on Sunday!

Blue Moon Rodeo

Blue Moon Rodeo

167 Halfmoon Road, Columbia Falls, MT 59912

Come check out Montana's longest running rodeo circuit with Liz & Matt at the Blue Moon. About a 15min drive from Whitefish, the Blue Moon hosts a rodeo circuit every Thursday over the summer. While you're there, pop in to the Blue Moon to see what might be the best taxidermy collection in Montana. Tickets can be found: https://glaciercountryrodeo.com/

Big Mountain (aka Whitefish Mountain Resort)

Big Mountain (aka Whitefish Mountain Resort)

MT 59937

A short drive north of town is Big Mountain (aka Whitefish Mountain Resort). In the summer, the ski resort has super hiking trails, a Gondola to the summit (and the summit house bar), a zipline and much more. Liz & Matt will likely organize a group hike up for folks in town the week before - stay tuned!

For all the days along the way
