Things To Do

There's a lot to do in the Yosemite area. Whether you want to stay near Rush Creek Lodge or explore deeper into the national park itself, here are some recommendations.

At Rush Creek

Rush Creek Lodge is the first new lodge to be built in the Yosemite area in over 25 years. We are thrilled to have everyone we love together to enjoy a relaxing mountain experience. During the day you can explore the on-site hiking trails, take in views from your balcony, swim in the the pool or hot tubs, play all sorts of games or enjoy the indoor/outdoor spa. There's also a small general store on-site with food, beverages, gifts, and other sundries for sale. There are no tv's in the rooms, so get out and enjoy it!

Yosemite National Park

Rush Creek Lodge is just half a mile from the park's highway 120 west entrance. Yosemite Area Regional Transportation Service (YARTS) has a stop right outside of Rush Creek should you want to avoid driving. Know that Yosemite is a very busy park so leave early to avoid traffic. Choose your own adventure in the park and feel free to ask us or call Rush Creek for recommendations. The park has something for everyone whether you want to take a drive, sit by a lake, or go any level of hike. You can even rent bikes to go around the valley in a loop.

Rainbow Pools

After a left turn out of Rush Creek and a nine mile drive you'll find the entrance to this waterfall and swimming hole. A great place to cool off on a lazy sunday!

Carlon Falls Trailhead

This one is super close to Rush Creek. Turn right out of the lodge and make a left onto Evergreen Road. You'l find the trailhead on the right side of the street after a small bridge. It's a two mile hike to the falls.

Groveland

The closest town to Rush Creek Lodge, Groveland is worth a stop either on your way in or out of the Yosemite area. It's a gold-rush era town with a small main street you could walk the length of in five minutes. Make sure to stop by the Iron Door Saloon for a drink or a snack, it's the oldest continually operated bar in all of California. It's also a great place to stock up on any food, beverages, or other provisions you'd like to fill your mini-fridge with.
