We met through mutual friends, which alone, sounds pretty lame. We initially met on a weekend in May when we were both with our friends. When my friend and I pulled up to his house, I saw him outside playing basketball and it took everything I had to keep my jaw off the floor. We messaged back and forth for a few weeks, but we ultimately ended up in other relationships and were never around each other. Fast forward almost four years, suddenly we were both single and around each other often. I could still barely keep my jaw off the floor every time I looked at him. What started as sneaking glances turned into us not being able to get enough of each other.

Jordan acted as though it was a late birthday gift that had arrived while I was at work. When I got home from work, he had me close my eyes and go to our bedroom. When he said I could open them, there was a big, wrapped box sitting on the bed along with a card. Sitting down, I opened the card first. It essentially said that he knows I didn’t get what I wanted for my birthday a few days prior (a proposal lol) but he hopes I love this anyway. I opened the box and in there sits a stuffed Yoshi with a sign above it saying, “Just kidding, let’s do this.” Confused, I pick up Yoshi and underneath I see a piece of wood with “Will you marry me?” carved into it. I look up and see Jordan smiling holding out a ring box with the most beautiful ring in it. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you!
