While we both went to University of Illinois and lived in Chicago after, it took moving across the country for our paths to really cross. Dana was invited to a concert on June 2nd with an old college friend, she was excited to reconnect and loved the band. When she walked up to the venue before the concert for drinks, she noticed this boy with CRAZY blue eyes and thought to herself "who's the hottie with the eyes?" Dan being Dan, was the friendliest person she encountered and he immediately starting asking questions and trying to get to know her. A small group went into the concert early and lucky for Dana, Dan was one of those people. They had a blast at the show opener and were riding high. In between sets, the group decided to get shots for Dan's birthday! (Dana took one, if you can believe it!). After the liquid shot, Dana shot her shot. She pulled Dan aside and told him she was having a blast and asked if he would be interested in going on a date with her. He smiled that big Dan smile and said yes. Dana's first and only ask out was a success. Thankfully Dan didn't say no because that would have made for a really awkward next few hours (which Dan hilariously pointed out in the moment!). We spent the rest of the night together dancing. We didnt see each for another 4 weeks. We were both traveling and wouldn't be back in town at the same time until June 30. Dana told Dan she would reach out when she was back in town. And then, we waited. Four weeks went by and the second Dana landed back in Denver, she texted Dan, luckily he was still interested in seeing her. He planned our entire first date and safe to the say the date went well. The first few dates were the best either of us had ever been on and we knew this was something different. By the third week we were officially dating, by the sixth week we were on vacation together. From the beginning we always knew it was something different & special, but I don't think either of us ever could've imagined it to be THIS good.
