Ashley and Kirk went on one of these tours last Summer. Destination: Hopkinsville, KY, the spot with the maximum totality for the 2017 total eclipse of the sun. There's nothing quite like celestial mechanics to set the stage for a marriage proposal. The solitaire engagement ring's first exposure to the sun was under the umbra of totality, August 21, 2017. SHE SAID YES!
Go for a fresh beer. It's close to our neighborhood. It's solar. Leah the owner is awesome. The Fallout Dust is the bomb (sorry, bad pun). The theme is a little dark, I know.
A neighborhood favorite. Ashley and Kirk like having 40 beers and as many bourbons stocked right around the corner. Great food. Family friendly.
This is our friendly neighborhood beverage shop. John Johnson knows what we like even when we don't quite know. Tell him Ashley and Kirk sent you.
The ponies won't be running on our wedding weekend, but the Kentucky Derby Museum is an amazing experience that will give you a sense of the history and the legends surrounding the fastest two minutes in sports.
Tour the factory and much more. This museum is in a cluster of others, including the Frasier, the Science Center, Muhammad Ali Center, and 21C. While your're here, you might as well stop at the Evan Williams Experience. It's a bourbon tour just a block or so from the Slugger Museum.
Let's go to the Hop! – Explore the Clifton, Crescent Hill, and Butchertown neighborhoods by way of a trolley ride! Launched in 2004, the F.A.T. Friday Trolley Hop has become a signature event on The Avenue. Held year-round on the final Friday of every month this event attracts thousands of people to enjoy free trolley rides to participating shops, restaurants and galleries along the Frankfort, Mellwood, and Story Avenue corridor. Many of the businesses host live music and entertainment, complimentary refreshments and special sales on trolley hop nights. This will be the Halloween edition, so who knows?
This is part of the Louisville Urban Bourbon Tour. A great opportunity to see how bourbon is distilled. Learn about Evan Williams who pioneered Kentucky spirits right here in Louisville.
