Citrus Heights is centrally located to lots of fun activities! If you are a history buff, we recommend checking out the Capitol Building and surrounding gardens. Across the street is also the Stanford Mansion, and also offers free tours! Downtown Sacramento is home to several museums including the Railroad Museum, Sutter's Fort, and the State Indian Museum. Surrounding cities also have hidden gems like the Maidu Museum and Historic Site in Roseville. If you enjoy art, the Crocker Museum (and attached original Crocker home) are a must see! For river lovers, take a cruise on the Hornblower or book a guided rafting tour from the foothills. Sacramento is also home to lots of great breweries, wineries, and restaurants. You're sure to find something you like. For giant party pretzels and beer in a giant boot hit up Kathrin's Biergarten in Rocklin, for vegan nachos the Wild Rooster Bistro in Fair Oaks is great, and Veg downtown has a delicious brunch menu.
There are lots of nice hotels in the area and most places near Citrus Heights and the foothills are quite safe and good for families. We like the Lake Natoma Inn in Folsom, but vacation rentals are another affordable option.
In an effort to reduce ours and Baby Brown's carbon footprints, we do not have a wedding or baby registry, but welcome any gently loved children's books, clothing, or toys. If bringing a book, please be sure to leave a message inside for the little one! In lieu of gifts we request a karaoke performance of your choosing at the party (duets encouraged!). If you are still keen to shower us with gifts, there are several local animal rescues that would appreciate your support (we love Blackberry Creek Sanctuary and Only Sunshine Sanctuary).
