Great Vespers

Casual Church Attire
Great Vespers is the primary evening service of the Orthodox Church. It is done in preparation for the Divine Liturgy the following morning. We will have a casual dinner afterwards at the church, while those involved in the ceremony will do a quick run-through!

Divine Liturgy

Church Attire
The Divine Liturgy is the primary worship service of the Orthodox Church. Here at Holy Ascension it runs for about an hour and a half to two hours, and is done almost entirely standing. There is some seating for those unable to remain standing, as well as a hall space with tables and chairs for those needing to sit down for a few minutes. The church is not wheelchair accessible, so please let us know ASAP if you will need help either for the Liturgy or for the wedding. All are welcome and invited to join us for this service on the morning before our wedding!
Ceremony

Church Attire
The Orthodox wedding service will most likely look very different from other weddings that you may have attended. There will be an informational pamphlet provided on the day of the wedding for anyone who wishes to learn more about the meaning of the service. As with the previous church services, the wedding service will be standing, although there will be some seating spaces for those who need to sit down.
