While Kirby & Evan met during high school and shared mutual friends, it took some time and a trip to San Antonio for these two to get together. Kirby was there celebrating her MOH’s, Delaney’s birthday with girl friends. Evan was living there at the time with his good friend and groomsmen, Cameron. The two groups decided to meet up and the rest is history. That one over-served night on the river walk, a little bumpin’ and grindin’ on the dance floor started it all.

Evan and Kirby were traveling to New York City for a fun July 4th getaway with their friends. Evan planned an evening under the July 4th fireworks cruise for just the two of them. After a fun night of dancing, eating, drinking and site seeing the city skyline, they headed up to the top deck to watch the fireworks on the Hudson River overlooking the Brooklyn Bridge. As soon as the fireworks started to go off, Evan got down on one knee and asked Kirby to marry him!! Kirby was so overwhelmed with joy she started instantly crying, accepting and then proceeded to scream "I'M ENGAGED!!" The whole boat broke out in cheers and applause. Afterwards they met up with the rest of their friends at a roof top bar and celebrated the night away!
