My sister had finally convinced me to tryout Camp Gladiator and one day Chris put his mat by ours. Naturally he started talking to my sister first (she's the social one and I'm not a bigger talker at 5 A.M) and then they both started making fun of me for using light weights. The next time at camp he offered me his extra weights but said I needed to keep coming to camp. Flirting? I wasn't sure yet. He then started messaging me on Facebook and eventually asked for my number so he could "stalk" me better (inside joke). Anyone that knows me knows that laughter is your way in with me so I gave him my number and he's been "stalking" me ever since!
We flew to Portland, Oregon for one last relaxing trip before I started the next school year and he started his internship for grad school. We decided to walk around the pond at Laurelhurst Park which was right across the street from our Airbnb. Apparently Chris had already had this planned and he wanted to propose by this bench in front of the pond but the bench was taken so onto plan B. There was this little path off the trail that went down closer to the pond but was kind of hidden by a bush. I joked with him saying "So is this where you murder me" and he said "not quite". He then proceeded to tell how he messed up saying "he loved me" and that he wasn't going to mess "this" up. That's when he got down on one knee and popped the question!!!!!!!! The first words out of my mouth..."Did you ask my dad?" He rolled his eyes and said yes of course I did. So then I said YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Needless to say the rest of our trip was pretty great :)
