Bradly, son of Julie and Gary Rodriguez and Kirby, daughter of Kathy Kyzer, Clarke Kyzer and Scott Brady, met while they were both park rangers for the South Carolina Park Service in 2018. Bradly had his eye on Kirby for some time, but it was the work week at Cheraw State Park, where Kirby served as the ranger I, that they began their love story. Bradly was currently serving as the ranger I at Lake Warren State Park and was staying in a rental cabin at Cheraw and Kirby lived in a historic cabin on site. While demolishing and repairing a golf course bridge for the park, Kirby was toting an old board and accidentally tore Bradlys’ uniform shirt. She then offered to sew it and he accepted. When she offered to wash it as well, he told her “You are the nicest person I have ever met!” After that, they began courting, fell in love at that historic CCC ranger I Cheraw cabin and blended their families. This included three dogs (Penny, Pepper and Pongo), a cat named Bambi and Bradlys’ son, a then five year old, Asher Leon. Bradly and Kirby both share a love for dogs, the outdoors, family, and rennovations. Eventually, the couple both promoted to ranger II and eventually Kirby became a senior ranger. Although Bradly is no longer a park ranger he is still working for the park service as a historic preservationist. From there, with the permission from Kathy and Clarke, Bradly asked Kirby to be his wife at Blowing Rock, North Carolina, with a ring passed down from Bradlys’ mother and father. After many promotions, moves and memories later, the couple will be celebrating their love story with family and friends on Feburary 18, 2022. This is their four year anniversary and where they will begin the exciting journey of husband and wife.
