DO NOT SLEEP ON THE FLOUR MILL MUSEUM IT’S SO GOOD YOU SHOULD GO TO IT. Well-acclaimed in the museum world (if you even care!) and Kirbie’s top museum rec :) The mill district in general has lots of great little shops, eateries, and lovely walking paths (down by the river along the ruins, across the stone arch bridge, etc.)
Conveniently located in downtown St Paul–this is a fantastic history center. Their permanent exhibits are interesting, and they have great rotating ones, as well. Bomb gift shop, too.
You could spend all day admiring pretty things here, and it’s free! Electric Fetus is nearby if you like record shops. Check out the period rooms–Kirbie’s fave part

Adult arcade/mini golf course with each hole made by local artists. Zany and magic. Booze and carnival-ish food available.
The fullest antique/junk shop you’ve ever seen. Hard to move in, but fun to explore!
Historic preservation furniture/architectural elements. Fun to explore if you like old things.

Bookstore specializing in science fiction, fantasy, and old horror classics, including comics and rare editions. Trent’s favorite comic shop in the cities!
Gift/decor store with locations scattered around the greater twin cities area. Cutie spot.
When in Rome! Lots of stores for shopping, eating, and good for people watching
Even if you don’t plan on purchasing any furniture, it is a fun activity to walk the floors and see the mock rooms. Also, the Swedish meatballs are a pretty good post window shopping snack.
Great coffeeshop/bakery. Take it to go and enjoy while walking around Lake of the Isles.
Busy but great little coffee shop and light brunch spot. The crepe cake is incredible.

Mid priced mediterranean cuisine on Selby in St. Paul. Fun part of town to duck into shops. Amazing brunch and great desserts, too.

Home of the OG Juicy Lucy (burger with cheese in the middle). Tiny, no frills, great burgers. Cash only. Go at non-peak hours or expect to wait quite awhile.
