How It Started We matched on Hinge (the app designed to be deleted, as Kiragu loves to mention) on September 12, 2022 and after weeks of messaging, we met at Bar Ama in Downtown LA on October 19. We lost ourselves in margaritas and questions and very little actual food. After dinner, we wandered the city and ended the night at The Wolves, where we drank whiskey sours and cuddled up in a booth. How We Grew From the very start, we were pretty much inseparable. But Talia still wanted to make their relationship official, so Kiragu planned a weekend trip to Temecula. On December 18, 2022, at South Coast Winery, Kiragu asked Talia to be his girlfriend. It was the first of many trips, and the beginning of everything. The years that followed were full: weddings across the country, Talia's 30th in Cancun, our first European trip through Paris, London, and Amsterdam, and weekend hikes and camping trips with our dog Wasabi. We moved in together in October 2024. The Proposal In 2025, after a summer of surprise weekend trips that had Talia perpetually wondering, Kiragu drove Talia to a mystery destination. Talia spent most of the car ride heads down working, right until she spotted a wine country sign off the freeway. Once Talia realized we were in Temecula, her brain started whirling, but surely Kiragu wouldn't propose in the first 20 minutes... wrong. At Gershon Bacchus Winery, a "tour guide" (actually our photographer) led us to a beautiful picnic setup, where Kiragu got down on one knee. That night, we celebrated at South Coast Winery, the same place we first made our relationship official. The next day, Kiragu whisked Talia back to LA for two surprise engagement parties, packed with friends from all over and both of our families. To Our People We have spent the last few years collecting memories with the people we love most, and our wedding day is the ultimate expression of that. We cannot wait to have everyone who has cheered us on, traveled with us, and shown up for us in the same room to celebrate with us. See you in Temecula!
