Our friendship started 8 years ago but, little did we know that it would one day grow into our very own love story. After getting out of a long relationship that broke me, Cristobal became my person to just talk and laugh with. Helping me move into my apartment, spending time with me and my boys and being a shoulder to cry on when I didn't think I could handle one more night, we began to develop a strong connection. After a night drive under the star's feelings began to blossom and our friendship turned into much more. We could chat for hours. I still remember our first kiss. It was perfect. I was still healing, and he knew that and walked with me through it. I would be lying if I said it was an easy journey but what I love about our journey is that we never give up on each other and always communicate. Our story is definitely a love story that is my favorite.

Cristobal had been planning this proposal for months, how he kept it a secret I will never know. I had been speculating it was coming and every weekend leading up to it kept thinking that this was it but this day I was not prepared for. It was a typical normal Friday evening and Cristobal said we were going on a double date with his brother. He gets to my house and acts all up in arms like something is wrong, says plans have changed a bit and we have to meet at a different location before going out to eat. We leave the house stop and run a few errands and then start taking these back roads in town, even though we are on a time crunch to make this restaurant on time before they close. He has me text his brother to let him know where we are and that we will be there soon and then tells me he wants to take me to our spot to look at the stars on our way. Still totally clueless I said OK let's go. We get there and I noticed his truck is sitting in the middle of the road with the lights on and his brother and girl are just chilling in the road. We roll down the window asking what they are doing there, and his brother is all like, " oh just looking at the stars". We end up leaving the spot and Cristobal acts like he is all upset and starts trying to call his brother and because he can't get any signal ends up turning back around. All the while I am sitting in my seat all clueless wondering what in the world is going on but just letting him do his thing. He ends up stopping the car and calling his brother and starts speaking to him in Spanish, it pays to be bilingual, sounding like he is mad at him. Well, at this point I was like whispering babe its ok, really, it's no big deal don't get mad at him. He hangs up and we drive back to the location and when we get there, he tells me to get out of the car. I AM STILL SO CLUELESS. I get out but this time I hear this music playing and see something in the distance through the lights of the headlights beaming. As we get closer, I hear our song playing and see candles and pictures all lined up and realize that in that moment what is coming. We walk to the center of the pictures and Cristobal gets down on one knee and asks me to be his wife. Before he could utter the words, I said YES! I'm so excited to spend the rest of my life with my best friend.
