It all started on 7/25/2023. We met during our first week in our Nurse Residency Program. Akeem was helping Kira set up her tax forms. Once he saw her click “single”, he was on a mission. We remained friends through the first year of working at the hospital. 7/25/2024 - we made things “official”. Akeem asked Kira to be his girlfriend at Kevin Rathbun Steakhouse and then we soon took our first vacation together to Cancun, Mexico. With Cancun being our first trip; we realized that traveling together was one of our favorite things to do. Since then, we have vacationed in Cayman Islands, Punta Cana, Paris, Rome, Florence, Tuscany, and Venice, Italy. Venice, Italy holds a special place in our hearts because that is where we got engaged on September 26th, 2025. Our time together has been full of adventures, traveling, and new experiences. Most importantly, we have been focused on our relationship with Christ. We made it a priority to keep Jesus at the center of our lives and to hold each other accountable. Without Him, none of this would be possible. We decided to have a small ceremony with the ones we love most, our immediate family. We are so excited to share this day with each and every one of you as we become One. We love you and can’t wait to see y’all in February.
