Kip and Gretchen went to pick out an engagement ring at Scott's Antique Market in January 2021. After trying on multiple rings, she was trying to decide between two and one got stuck on her finger. Multiple tricks were tried to remove, and the seller told her to go home and relax and return the next day. The ring was still stuck. The vendor had to cut the ring to remove it. Gretchen had grown rather attached to it in 24 hours, and they decided that was the one! Due to pandemic problems, the requested modifications including resizing took more than a few months, but then the ring finally arrived....

On a Caribbean cruise in December 2021, Kip proposed to Gretchen on a quiet beach during a stop at Harvest Caye. They are looking forward to their honeymoon cruise: 11-day transatlantic from Lisbon, Portugal to Miami, FL.
