How we met

1.19.2014 | Martin Macks

MLK weekend in 2014 the 49ers were in the playoffs against the Seahawks. It was a big game and everyone in San Francisco was out watching. As fate would have it, we both were living in NOPA, and watched the game at our neighborhood sports bar, Martin Macks. The bar was packed and it wasn’t too long before someone said, “You can share our table, but you’ll have to share your beer” - We can’t remember who we have to thank for that now infamous line, but needless to say, we totally hit it off that night, talked the whole time through the game, and haven’t stopped talking since. Many of you reading this were there that day and witnessed us meeting for the first time. On August 31, 2019 you'll get to see us say, "I do!"

The Graffiti

12.28.2018

We came home from Christmas vacation and someone had drawn graffiti on the sidewalk in front of our house. The graffiti was stencil shapes of Arizona and Illinois with holding hands in the middle (see image below!). We still don't know who did it and are hoping someone will confess at the wedding...

The Proposal

9.27.2018 | Alta Plaza

On a Thursday evening after work, we were going to dinner with Kip's former boss from Nextdoor (or so Kaleigh thought). As we were walking to dinner through Alta Plaza, our local neighborhood park, there was a chalk artist drawing the same graffiti art. Once Kaleigh recognized the sketch and realized what was happening, she turned and saw Kip was on one knee.
