We will be at around 9,000 ft elevation. To help with the adjustment, it’s recommended to hydrate with lots of water + electrolytes and drink less alcohol than you normally would at sea level. If you’re very concerned about altitude sickness, you could even spend a day or two in Denver before heading into the mountains.
Yes, but only for getting around Summit County. Uber/Lyft will NOT be a reliable transportation option at the wedding venue.
North Star Gatherings is fairly secluded in the mountains and not the easiest to get to. We strongly encourage guests to stay in Summit County and take advantage of the complimentary round-trip shuttles. Shuttles will pick up guests at 2:00pm at Hotel Indigo Silverthorne and will drop guests back off at the hotel at the end of the evening. If staying elsewhere (e.g., closer to Denver) then you will be responsible for your own transportation.
There will be an early departure shuttle leaving the venue at 8:45pm.
You are welcome to drive yourself to North Star Gatherings, as long as you are comfortable with mountain driving and not drinking (keep in mind that alcohol will affect you more strongly at high altitude). Make sure to use Google Maps only for accurate navigation.
The ceremony and cocktail hour will be outdoors, weather permitting. The reception will be indoors.
Yes, your kids are welcome at any of the events. We imagine it would be logistically challenging for you to bring young kids to the wedding, but we'll leave that decision up to you!
