How Two Weirdos Found Each Other

Nashville, October 2018. Two people, both a little unlucky in love, swiping their way through the dating world. And where did fate decide they should meet? - Tinder. Rachel had her eye on a local band playing at a bar downtown. Her Saturday night plans fell through, so she did what any modern woman would do: open Tinder to find a concert buddy. Enter: Chris. They started chatting and hit it off instantly. Sparks were already flying through text when Rachel made the first move and asked if he had plans that night. He was working that day but told her he’d be done in time — and just like that, they had their first date lined up. After swapping numbers, Rachel texted Chris: "Hey this is Rachel." His response? "Who is this?" Classic Chris - always messing with people. A few jokes later, plans were set and excitement was high. While Rachel was mid-shower (and mid-panic that she would be late), Chris messaged that he was on his way. When she told him he may have to wait a bit, his reply? "I can always come through your bathroom window." Most would’ve called the cops. Rachel laughed. She already had a feeling this guy was going to be fun. Chris was greeted at the door not just by Rachel, but by Percy - her enthusiastic dog. Instead of backing away, Chris got right down to Percy’s level and gave him some love, passing the very first (and most important) test. After chatting in the kitchen, they headed downtown. Chris made sure Rachel always walked on the inside of the sidewalk - a sweet little gesture that didn’t go unnoticed. At the bar, the music was great, the drinks were flowing... and Rachel, well, let’s just say she doesn’t remember every detail of the night. Except one: she (again) made the first move with a kiss. From that night on, they’ve hardly spent a day apart. One January morning, as Rachel was leaving Chris’s apartment, she sent him a text that read, “Percy loves you, just like his mom.” She knew exactly what she was putting out there but wasn’t sure if Chris felt the same. His reply came faster than expected, “I was hoping Percy's mom would say it in person.” That night, Chris whispered to Rachel, “I love you too.” And at that moment, Rachel just knew - she had found the one. A few months later, they moved in together... then moved again 3 months after that... and again 3 months after that. They’re now seasoned moving pros, and furniture Tetris champions. Over the years, they’ve shared a life full of surprises: job changes, health scares, a runaway cat (who thankfully returned!), the launch of Chris’s business, the heartbreaking loss of his dad, and a million little moments in between. New Year’s Eve 2024. They were vacationing in Florida, enjoying a cozy family celebration in St. Pete. After dinner, they took a walk by the water. Just before midnight, under the glow of twinkling Christmas lights, Chris pulled Rachel aside and said, “I love you. I love you so much that I want to ask you to marry me.” Then he got down on one knee. And Rachel said yes. As they look ahead to the future, Chris and Rachel are excited to spend the rest of their lives together. They’re both quirky, a little weird, and in the best way possible, they just get each other. There’s something about the way they fit together, something no one else has been able to understand about them before - and they wouldn’t have it any other way. They are so happy to be able to celebrate their special day with all the people they love, and they can’t wait to kick off this next chapter in the most fun and memorable way possible. So, get ready to party in April - they’re ready to celebrate, laugh, and dance the night away with everyone who’s been a part of their story!
