It was a cool fall night in 2017 in the heart of Athens, Georgia, when fate decided to have a little fun. The bar was called 100 Proof, a reoccurring spot with music that buzzed through the air, ice cold slushies to cool us down, and a crowd full of college students. She was there with her best friend, laughing and capturing memories on her phone. Little did she know, one of those passing moments would change her life forever. As she panned her camera around the room, there I was—just another stranger in the background of her video. But to her, something about that brief glimpse stuck. She told her friend, almost playfully, “We’ve got to come back here. I need to find out who he is.” And she did. Not long after, we crossed paths again in that same city, and what began as a chance appearance in a video turned into conversations, laughter, and an unshakable bond. From that moment on, we wrote our story together—one chapter at a time, the rest becoming history.
