PJ’s Pancake House - A Princeton staple on Nassau Street, known for its fluffy chocolate-chip pancakes and all-day breakfast comfort food. Small World Coffee - A local favorite for great coffee, lots of personality, and the perfect place to warm up or hang out between activities. Maman - A newer addition to Princeton but a familiar favorite for our NYC guests with charming pastries, lattes, and a cozy café vibe. Jammin’ Crepes - A go-to for sweet or savory crepes. The banana-Nutella is a classic and always hits the spot!
Tacoria - A super casual, always-delicious spot for Mexican food — think tacos, burrito boxes, and the best corn you’ll ever try. Great for an easy lunch or late-night bite in town. Hoagie Haven - An absolute Princeton classic. These hoagies are enormous, chaotic, and unforgettable! Olive's - Perfect for grab-and-go sandwiches, salads, and baked goods. Pick something up and wander over to the library lawn for the full “Princeton local” experience. Nassau Sushi - A simple, reliable sushi place right in the center of town. Great rolls, quick service, and an easy option for a light lunch or casual dinner.
Teresa’s – Cozy Italian spot right in town with great pasta & pizza. Always a solid choice! Agricola – Farm-to-table American restaurant with great drinks! Witherspoon Grill – Classic American steakhouse with outdoor seating and a lively atmosphere. Perfect for a nicer dinner option! Mediterra – Mediterranean-inspired restaurant with tapas, paella, and great cocktails. Fun for a bigger group!
Halo Pub (Emily's favorite)- A total Princeton classic that's cozy, local, and serving really good, old-school ice cream. Great for a stroll around Palmer Square with a cone in hand! The Bent Spoon - Small-batch artisanal ice cream and sorbets with fun, seasonal flavors. Lines can get long, but it’s always worth it. Thomas Sweet - A longtime favorite on Nassau Street known for their “blend-ins,” where they mix candy or cookies right into your ice cream. Very nostalgic, very Princeton. Coldstone Creamery (Tim's favorite) - Nowhere near downtown Princeton, but important to include in this list.
Princeton University – A gorgeous campus to wander—stunning old buildings, courtyards, and paths for a perfect afternoon walk. Don’t miss the new art museum, Prospect Gardens, or strolling across Nassau Hall’s front lawn! And Emily’s dad recommends checking out the Eating Clubs, especially Tiger Inn :) Princeton Battlefield – A big, beautiful historic field perfect for a walk, picnic, or quick history fix. Wide-open, calm, and only a few minutes from town. The Institute – Just outside downtown, this serene campus is where Einstein spent his final years (think Oppenheimer). Walk the wooded trails, explore open fields, and soak in the intellectual energy :) Turning Basin – A peaceful spot along the D&R canal to walk, bike, or relax by the water. Great for an easy stroll or renting a kayak. Shopping – Princeton has lots of great shops, including consignment and thrift stores that Emily and her mom love!
