We met at Fox Ridge Golf Course in 2020. Julia was home from her freshman year of college early due to COVID and got a summer job at the golf course as a bartender. Derek also happened to work at Fox Ridge that same summer after his senior year of high school and was planning to attend Iowa State in the fall. We both still remember the first time we saw each other (Julia even remembers what Derek was wearing) and by October of 2020 we officially started dating and the rest is history. After starting our love story on a golf course, we decided it only made sense to celebrate spending forever together on a golf course as well!
