Let's drink, dance, & get married!

Back in 2011, Dave and Brooke both worked at City Theatre on Pittsburgh's South Side. Dave was an electrician and Brooke was a bartender. Dave would come to the bar and order coffee and Brooke would slip a little Kahlua in it. Dave asked Brooke out a few times but she always said no, until one day - broke as a recent college grad and desperate for a burrito - she let Dave take her to Chipotle. It wasn't exactly love at first bite - but Brooke eventually came to her senses and they've been sharing burritos ever since.

Once upon a time in May of 2019, Brooke and Dave decided to take a trip to Scotland to drink some whisky. They had planned on spending a few days in Edinburgh before taking a 4-day whisky tour of the island of Islay. On their first full day in Edinburgh, they set out hiking up the side of Arthur's Seat, a dormant volcano in the middle of the city. About halfway up, they stopped to take a break and Brooke noticed something poking through Dave's jacket pocket. "What's that?" she asked. "Nothing - don't worry about it," Dave replied. Brooke suddenly got very nervous and started to cry. "There's a lot of people around," she sputtered as Dave took her hand. He led her down a short way off to the side of the volcano, next to a large boulder where there were considerably fewer people around. Dave knelt down in the mud, said some very nice things about how much he loved Brooke that she doesn't remember, and presented her with her Grandmother's engagement ring from 1954. They spent the next 9 days celebrating with whisky and not telling a soul about their engagement until they came home.
