Spend a day in our nation’s capital! June is a great time to walk around the National Mall, go to a Nationals game, or paddle around the Potomac. D.C. is a charming city full of history that would make a great start to the wedding weekend!
Shenandoah National Park
Nature’s Calling! Located just 17 minutes from Meadowbrook Farm is the North Entrance of the Shenandoah National Park and the start of the Skyline Drive. Known for its scenic Blue Ridge Mountains, cascading waterfalls, endless hiking trails, and active wildlife, the park is a staple in Northern VA that you won’t want to miss.
Front Royal Outdoors
One of our favorite things to do in the area is float down the Shenandoah River. Visit Front Royal Outdoors to rent tubes, canoes, and more and hop on their shuttle bus to head upstream. Pack a cooler, some extra sunscreen, and your bathing suit to spend the day on the water.
Skyline Caverns
Take a journey underground to explore Skyline Caverns, a natural wonder of Front Royal, home to 60 million old preserved caves. Get an hour-long tour from a guide and don’t miss the gift shop!
