Kingslea and Nick first met in Ten Sleep, Wyoming. Kingslea traveled to Wyoming for vacation and never went back home to Dallas, Texas. On June 18, 2021 Kingslea was offered a position as a Project Engineer in Sheridan, Wyoming. She was very reluctant to accept a new job while she was on vacation – she had never made that spontaneous or rash of a decision before. That following Sunday, Kingslea went out to the bar with some friends. While waiting for a drink she saw a Mandalorian commercial on the tv and said aloud “Woah! That’s awesome!” Nick then looked over at her and said, “Do you like Star Wars?” They chatted for a couple minutes about Star Wars, of all things. How nerdy is that? Nick then moved the seat next to him and invited Kingslea to sit next to him. They spent another couple of hours sitting next to each other while talking and laughing about everything and anything. Nick later asked Kingslea “Do you want to go for a walk with me and I will show you around town?” Kingslea looked at him as if he was the biggest creep and wasn’t sure if she could trust this new dude she met, at all. While Nick was in the bathroom, Kingslea asked her friend Missy, “Can I trust this guy? Is this weird to go on a walk with him? Maybe I should go get my gun before we go in case he tries anything with me.” Missy laughed and looked at Kingslea, “Yes, you can trust him. He is a super great guy!” When Nick came back from the bathroom Kingslea looked at him and said “Ok, I will go on a walk with you, but you better not try anything!” Nick and Kingslea walked around town aimlessly for two hours. He showed Kingslea where he grew up with his grandparents, the different houses he had lived in throughout his life, shared some history and stories of Ten Sleep, and even took her to the cemetery to show where his mom was buried. (Yeah, she met his mom on their first date. Weird, right?) All the while, he was the most perfect gentleman. Didn’t even ask to hold her hand or offer a kiss when he walked her to her doorstep. Kingslea accepted the new position in Sheridan, Wyoming the next day. They became best friends that night and have been inseparable ever since!

Nick proposed to Kingslea at Yellowstone National Park with his son Aiden and Kingslea’s Uncle, Kyle Stringham, by their side. Nick planned to drop on his knees at Upper Falls within the park, but by the time they had hiked all the way to the falls, there was a million people around and not only did Nick get nervous, but he knew better than to mess up pictures for Kingslea by having a million people around. He waited anxiously while they drove around to the other side and hiked to the lower falls. Kingslea and Aiden were overlooking the waterfall at the cliff when Nick dropped on his knee. Kingslea turned around in complete shock and said “YES!” with the biggest smile on her face. We can’t wait to celebrate with you at our wedding ceremony and reception in July!
