Ashley and Eddie met in freshman year of high school in 2011, after both growing up in Gwinnett County, GA. During sophomore year, they bonded in AP World History - the hardest class either ever took. They exchanged numbers, texted, wrote notes to each other, and even went to Moe's Monday together after school. Both Ashley and Eddie developed crushes on each other but never dated. As their high school careers continued, they shared less classes together, continued onto separate colleges, careers, states, and lost touch. In 2024, Ashley and Eddie reconnected via Instagram DMs when Eddie posted that he was at a concert for a band Ashley had introduced him to years earlier. At this time, Eddie lived in Knoxville, TN and Ashley had moved back to Atlanta, GA for work. After weeks of flirting, Eddie finally gave into Ashley's request for a date. They went on their first date to Superica at Krog Street Market in Atlanta. What was supposed to be just a lunch date turned into half a day spent together. At the end, Ashley told Eddie she was going to marry him. From then, the two have been inseparable and eventually moved in with each other in Atlanta. Ashley and Eddie easily blended their lives together. They introduced their beloved dogs - Oliver, a gentle giant, and River, a spirited cowboy corgi - who quickly became the best of brothers. Together they filled their days with adventure, travel, and music. Their first trip together to Boston, MA where they rode a Duck Boat, discovered their love of lobster rolls, and even roadtripped to Portland, ME for the day. Their love of live music continued as they attended countless concerts, mostly in the alternative scene. Eddie even convinced Ashley to go to Bonnaroo, an outdoor camping music festival held in Tennessee in June. Somehow, despite their busy lives, the couple always made time for the people that mattered most: their family and friends. The couple planned a trip to Spain and Portugal for September 2025 - an adventure they talked about on their first date. Eddie knew he was going to propose to Ashley while they were abroad. He took great detail in choosing the proposal spot, hiring a photographer, and even having Ashley’s friends subtly make sure she was wearing an appropriate outfit. Eddie proposed in the early morning under the Pont del Bisbe in an empty Gotchic Quarter of Barcelona, Spain. He was so nervous and forgot his carefully scripted speech (a point that Ashley played to her advantage by then having him re-propose to her in the three other cities they travelled to.) The freshly engaged couple spent the entire morning in a local café, sharing the exciting news with friends and family via phone calls and FaceTimes. They are now so excited to be celebrating with everyone in person!
