We’re getting married!

I was a senior in high school and Daniel was a junior. It was April and we both played spring sports, so one day, we ended up in the training room at the same time. Although we went to the same school our entire lives, this was the first day that we spoke to one another. Daniel was laying on the mat, getting his hamstring stretched while I was getting my ankle wrapped. I thought that he was super cute so I jokingly told him that he had a baby hamstring. After that, I had secretly hoped that he would be in the training room whenever I needed to go. For a few months, we would flirt back and forth whenever we saw each other. Eventually, we started spending more and more time together and we have spent the last six years together.

On our five year anniversary, Daniel took us out to lunch and then down to the lake where we took prom pictures at almost four years ago. We sat on a swing just talking and looking out at the sunset for what seemed like only a few seconds. Then, he stood up and I could hear the nervousness in his voice as he told me how much he loved me. He got down on one knee and as soon as this happened, I saw my parents peeking behind him taking our pictures (that part he did manage to hide from me). He dug in his pocket for the ring that he hid in a tissue so I wouldn't see the box throughout lunch. He asked me if I would spend the rest of my life with him and I gladly said "yes".
